CASE STUDY

- This study has been prepared to show a sample on how to use and visualize the data provided by Covalent.
- Two datasets have been used in the study, you can access them via these links: Token Holders Dataset » Burn & Mint Dataset »

SOFTWARE

- PHP programming language and MySQL database system have been used as the development platform.
- All has been done inhouse without including any kind of outsource code such as script, embed, snippet, etc.
- A custom subdomain has been created for the software

SECURITY AND PRIVACY

- SSL certificate has been set for a more secure platform.
- As a privacy measure, Google and other search engines have been prevented to index the pages. This way only the people who know the url can access it.

PERFORMANCE

- Database has been designed in an optimal way. Repeating values have been kept in separate tables. This way hundreds of thousands fields of data reduction provided. On the other hand some sets have been combined in one table where proper, to reduce the number of database queries.
- No CSS and JS files have been linked to provide a faster pageload. Related content have been used as inline codes
- Some inline JS codes have been used to make faster switching between navigation items thus a user friendly interface has been released.
- Besides all the measures taken, a cache system has been integrated because the processed data is too big. By doing this, users will not have to wait for long query times.

SCALABILITY

- Firstly Token Holders page has been prepared. Although one was enough to show how the datasets can be used and visualised, Burn & Mint page has also been added. Burn & Mint dataset has a bigger content, different parameters and requirement of a more detailed graphic. So including this page is a good evidence of the scalability.

COMPATIBILITY

- The page is compatible with all mostly known browsers such as Google Chrome, MS Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc.
- Due to time constraints mobile version has not been prepared. Therefore it is still usable (horizontal view recommended).

THANKS

- Special thanks to Covalent for providing the datasets and to Adam from the team for helping on the clarification of the datasets.
